As with every major event in history, breaking innovations that radically transform society. occur during periods of change. The aftermath due to Covid-19 has been no different. Large organizational models have been forced to suddenly start thinking digital, due to the ripple effects of circumstances. The following three ripples might influence our future: Education, Advanced and Assisted Tooling and Mass Digital Access.
As of 2020 there is a large cohort of tertiary educated, analytical thinkers who are stepping out of their comfort zone and re-educating. The barriers of education have been opened up and are becoming more and more accessible by the day. Individuals who foster a lifestyle of continuous learning will simply re-educate themselves via online platforms.
Low to no-code platforms ,cloud computing and computer-aided assistance are also empowering users to do more and struggle less with everyday mundane tasks. Examples include GitHubs’ current code assistance, Grammarly and Google Translate.
Amassing a bunch of tools and data does however bring society into a space of digital confusion. There are simply too many options to solve a single solution. Assessing which tools and aids to use becomes a tricky balance as each solution competes for attention whilst selling themselves as the answer to all your business problems.
Research ,quick iterative testing in combination with custom development would seem to be the only clear answer to business challenges. Critical thinking and creativity deems itself to be irreplaceable and remain important. After all, technology remains a means to an end. Our focus will therefore now become to ask the questions of what, how and why as we build and rebuild the Utopia of tomorrow.
