The year has almost ended and as with each year there has been a couple of trends. Trends include Block-chain, Cryptocurrencies, machine learning, automation and hyperactive color schema’s in the UX space . It has been a year of whats seems to be confusion in ergonomics and I believe that the end of it will be more data driven experiences via analytic tools, ab testing and heatmapping. Marketers have merged ideas within which was once IT and now refocused to ICT. A renaissance of fusion and confusion one might say.
The driving dominant factor of change still remains not only profit, but addressing human needs and therefore the upward trend in the BI and analytics space. Upcoming millennials are moving along with the growing population pyramid, creating an agile economy which cares less about equities and more about networks of change. Ideas & gamification trumps this economy and profits follows in its footsteps. Part of 2017/8 is a fusion of man and machine into a complex space to which many such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have divided opinions.
As we therefore enter 2018 let us enter as millennials which are the makers, the learners, the boundary breakers. We search simple solutions to solve complex problems and don’t settle for standards of the 1980’s. Our path means solving problems by using AI and alternatives. As we adapt and learn, let us embrace change and not be the Luddites of tomorrow. 2018 I hereby greet you .. Spock
